RESPECT IN SPORT

 

Is your sport group looking for ways to raise the bar when it comes to respect for your members and participants. This presentation will engage attendees in discussion around empowering people to recognize and prevent bullying, abuse, harassment and discrimination. It will highlight the benefits of the Respect in Sport Parent and Activity Leader/Coach Programs as we all work together towards a safe, ethical environment and a culture of respect.

Concussion 101 - Youth in Sports

This introductory session identifies "What is a concussion?" highlights concussion management strategies; provides baseline testing education; tools and resources; interactive group discussion and Q&A

SOCIAL MEDIA

Is your sport group up to date with the latest in social media? Join us for this interactive presentation highlighting current tools & trends. Learn how organizations are using social media effectively, and how your team can benefit from this ever-changing means of promoting your organization. Ask questions and share ideas. Participants will be able to understand the different purposes and engagement levels of a variety of tools, as well as have a better understanding of "social media" culture, values, and practices.

Sports Injury Taping

This session offers technical and practical demonstrations and

insights for use when taping athletes. It covers the introduction to

taping techniques as well as the principles and application of taping.

RESOLUTION WITHOUT CONFLICT

No one likes to handle 'difficult' people or issues and the conflict that ensues. Sports volunteers are already busy handling the day-to-day needs of their team/organization and can find conflict to be an added challenge for all involved. This workshop provides practical tools for difficult conversations. It will highlight how policy writing, conflict of interest, and the dispute and resolution processes build a solid foundation towards effective solutions in managing conflict.

Sports Injury Prevention

Sports are a great way to keep fit and stay healthy. However, accidents happen. This session highlights some tips for prevention and treatment of injury that can help promote a safe, optimal sports experience for athletes.
